Ways We Serve Randolph County

Our Goals

  1. To promote public awareness of issues pertaining to persons with disabilities throughout the year and act as an advocate for the disabled 
  2. To advise all Randolph County local municipalities on issues pertaining to persons with disabilities  
  3. To provide a regular forum for the discussion of issues pertaining to persons with disabilities    

Our Community Activities

  1. Monthly "HIGH FIVE " is presented to a local disabled group in our community to celebrate their accomplishments   
  2. Arlie Culp a Day at the Zoo in partnership with the North Carolina Zoo and held yearly  
  3. Disabilities Awareness Day & Parade held in October 
  4. Ice Cream Social @ Monarch of Asheboro held in the summer 
  5. Christmas Luncheon & Celebration for the workers @ Randolph Vocational Workshop, Inc. held each year in December   

Our Annual Awards

In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month the Randolph County Mayors Committee accepts nominations for the Audrey & Jim Harriman Outstanding Employee of the Year and the Employer of Year. Applications are accepted from the community and judged by a special selection committee. Awards are presented in October. 

Our Funding
